Although the name assumes otherwise, Virginia cedarwood essential oil is actually steam distilled from the wood of a Juniper tree of eastern North America. The oil gets its name from the woody, smooth aroma that is reminiscent of an old cedarwood chest. It is frequently used in aromatherapy to support the respiratory system, and works as an excellent decongestant and cough suppressant.
